Teen Blackout Poetry

April is National Poetry Month. To celebrate teens can visit the Teen Room at any time during the month to participate in creating their own poems from old book pages. Just black out the words you don’t need to create your own beautiful poetry.

Gardening & Composting: April 4th

Whether you are new to gardening or a seasoned expert, you can learn the tips and tricks of gardening.   Join Naturalist & Gardening Guru Debbie Banfield from Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center on April 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. to find out how to get the perfect garden.  This program is open to all adults.

Teen 3D Printer Open Lab - April 1 @ 2:30 PM

Teens can come by our 3D Printer Open Lab to learn the basics of TinkerCAD, an online 3D design website, to create their own 3D objects to print out. The Open Lab will be held on Saturday, April 1, from 2:30-3:30 PM in the Computer Lab.

The 3D printer open lab is part of Codename Gener8, a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-focused program for teens.

This tweet from Harris County Public Library makes a good point:  eBooks are convenient when traveling, especially when real estate (i.e. luggage space) is at stake.

Kingwood Branch Library Awarded Grant from Kingwood Women's Club

Kingwood Women's Club 2017 Grant RecipientsWe would like to thank Kingwood Women's Club for the generous grant it has awarded the Kingwood Branch Library. The money received will go toward expanding the library's collection of award-winning titles targeting young readers. In addition to this kind gift, the Kingwood Women's Club dedicates numerous volunteer hours to the library each and every week. We are thankful for such support.
