While the Kingwood Branch was closed during the move to the new building the Kingwood location was not available as a pick-up location. We are now open for business; if you want to pick up items at Kingwood Branch that you previously selected for pick up at Atascocita Branch then please give us a call at 281-360-6804 and ask that we change your pick up location. Please have your library card and PIN handy. It is an easy change for us to make. We look forward to seeing you!

Take a look at our slide show below to see some of the day's activities and distinguished guests!
Mark this date and time on your calendars – Monday, April 19th at 10 AM at 4400 Bens View Lane. This is the day that we are back in business. We welcome back all our regular library customers and the new visitors we hope will become repeat customers.
The day will open with a bang with Congressman Ted Poe, Mayor Annise Parker, City Councilmember Mike Sullivan, County Commissioner Eversole, Dr. Lawson, Director of Houston Public Library and last, but certainly not least our own Rhoda Goldberg, Director of the Harris County Public Library offering short remarks.
FOLK – Friends of the Library-Kingwood have planned a day of activities with storytimes and face painting throughout the day. Sparky the Fire Dog will make a special appearance at 3 PM in the Children’s Activity room; there will be gaming demonstrations from 11 AM – 3 PM in the Teen Media Room. A teen gaming tournament will be held from 3 – 9 PM and a Technology Petting Zoo will be set up in the Training Lab that will demonstrate Kindles and Sony eReaders and other interesting tech gadgets throughout the day.
The Bear Branch Elementary Honor Choir will perform at 5 PM and the Kingwood HS Choir will perform at 7 PM.
And the best of all – we are back to business as usual with new books, DVDs, CDs – books and music. Please come see us, we’ve missed you all!
One week until the Grand Opening. We're down to the connecting and testing of the PCs. We're shifting and refining the collections. We're moving furniture here, there and back to here again. It's just like moving into a new house, only about 10 times larger, with a really out of proportion office, and no kitchen. With company coming in one week when we open on April 19th at 10 AM. We can’t wait to see all the familiar faces and meet many more. Come join us for the celebration!
The staff has been working hard this week to get everything ready, and it has certainly paid off! We're all exhausted but pleased by what has been accomplished. In just a little over a week, the community will be able to enjoy a brand new, spacious library building full of new and exciting services. Take a look at the pictures below to see the progress that has been made!
