Go Red for Women

Friday, February 5 is National Wear Red Day. This is part of the Go Red for Women initiative. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women, killing more women than all forms of cancer combined. Here at the Library we will be wearing red in support of this initiative and have put together a display of  healthy heart books. 

Special Box Storytime *Rescheduled*

 Due to inclement weather we have rescheduled this special storytime for Tuesday, February 2 at 10:15 am. Join us for a very fun box themed story time!  Sorry we cannot accommodate day care groups for this program.

Film Committee Auditions for Our 2016 SRP Movie!

The La Porte Community Library Film Committee will be holding sign-ups for our 2016 Summer Reading Promotional Film. Both speaking and non-speaking parts are available for the cast. There will also be script writing and filming roles for the crew. The sign-ups are Thursday, January 14 from 3:15 - 4:30 pm. Join the fun!

Teen Chess With Master J

Stop by the library and learn some chess moves or challenge Master J to a match. You are welcome to join in on any of the 4 sessions that will be held over the next two months or come to them all! All levels, especially beginners, are welcome. The first session will be Wednesday, January 13, 4 pm - 5 pm. Ages 10-17.
