Melissa received a $50 gift card from Amazon as her prize. When asked what prompted her to sign up for ReaderNation, she said: “My son was signing up for summer reading and I wanted to encourage him.  And I decided it couldn’t hurt"! She said that her love for reading was passed on to her by her mother, and she, in turn, had passed on this love to her son. She said she “absolutely enjoyed” every book she logged in for the ReaderNation program.

ANOTHER GREAT SUMMER IN THE BOOKS

Another summer full of entertaining and educational crafts and programming has come to a close. We want to give a big thank you to the Friends of La Porte Library for their financial support for all our summer activities. These dedicated people give of themselves weekly to ready the donated books for sale.

With budgets as stretched as they are, it is the Friends membership dues, donations, and book sales that allow us to provide a richer summer for all our children and teens.
