SELF CHECK COMES TO LA PORTE COMMUNITY LIBRARY

Are you sometimes in a rush to grab a book and head out the door? Then you will be pleased to hear that La Porte Community Library now has two Self-Check stations which will allow you to scan your own items. There will always be our friendly circulation staff on hand to help you whether on self-check or at the full service line. Come on in and try out our new "toy."

VALENTINE DOUGH HEART TEEN CRAFT

Hey teens and tweens join us Wednesday, February 9 at 4:00pm for another fun craft time. You will be making salt dough hearts for Valentine's Day. They make a great little present for someone special.

After School CraftTime

On most Wednesday afternoons during the school year the library hosts a 30-45 minute program for school-age children. This Wednesday, February 9, is CraftTime, when the young people will be guided in making a craft. Some Wednesdays there will be a GameTime or ScienceTime. 

Come anytime for the Wednesday afternoon program! Most Wednesdays at 3:15 pm for school-age children.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH CROSSWORD PUZZLE KITS TO GO

Test your knowledge of Black History with a collection of crossword puzzles. These fun and educational kits to go can be picked up at the Information Desk. Celebrate Black History month with us and enjoy the puzzles.

Opera to Go! is Rescheduled!

Picture of Opera Lady SingingOK, the picture is a cliché but the exciting fact is that Opera to Go! of the Houston Grand Opera is coming to the La Porte library! The show presented will be: Storybook Opera. “The Dog Who Sang at the Opera” and is based on the true story of a wolfhound who upstages an opera diva.  The program lasts about 30 minutes, is targeted to school age children, and is free.  It has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 24, at 4:30 p.m. because of weather concerns.
