Law School for the Layman

Do you have legal questions but don’t even know where to start?  The Maud Marks Library is pleased to host The People’s Law School presented by the Katy Bar Association.  On Saturday, May 11 at 10:30 AM we will be covering the topic of trademark law.  Learn all about trademarks, copyright, webpage rights and other intellectual property issues to protect or grow your business.  Charles Knobloch is a patent, trademark, and Texas attorney and is no stranger to our oil, medical, and computer based Houston economy.    Seating is limited.  Please click here to register.

Paying for College

Do you have a child preparing to start a post-secondary education?  Are you worrying about how to pay for it?  The Maud Marks Library wants to help with that.  Come in on this Saturday, May 11 at 2 PM and hear firsthand experience on how to apply for scholarships, financial aid and grants for parents with students who are currently sophomores, juniors or seniors in high school.  Don’t let the high cost of education prevent your child from getting one.

Seating for this and most programs at the Maud Marks Library is limited.  Please click here to register for this program.

Teen Summer Job at the Maud Marks Library

The Maud Marks Library is excited to announce that this summer, the library will be hiring 2 summer interns for 9 weeks.  The library is looking for motivated, high energy high school students ages 16-18 to help us out during our summer reading program.

The applications are available until May 15.  You may also come into the library for a copy.  These applications must be returned in person before the May 15 deadline.  It would be a good idea to include a resume with the application.

Should you get the job, you would be required to work Monday- Friday, 1 PM- 5 PM from June 3 to August 2.  Among your duties would be shelving and helping with our summer reading program events.

The Maud Marks Library is excited to provide this opportunity for teens in the Katy community.
