Volunteer at Maud Marks Library

Are you a High School Teen who needs volunteer hours this school year? The Maud Marks Library is currently accepting volunteer applications.

In order to volunteer you have to be in high school and must be able to commit to 2 hours a week. Stop by the library and grab an application. The next Teen Volunteer Orientation is on Thursday, January 7, at 4:30 PM. All new volunteers are required to attend an orientation before they can start their volunteering hours.

Please call the Maud Marks Library at 281-492-8592 if you have any questions.

Family Films are back at Maud Marks Library! Come in, out of the cold and enjoy some great movies. On Wednesday, December 30 at 1:15 PM we will watch Alvin, Simon and Theodore try to adjust to the pressures of school, celebrity and the new arrival of an all female singing trio called The Chipettes. Then on Thursday, December 31 at 1:15 PM we will travel to the Valley of Peace and meet Po the Panda as he finds himself named the Dragon Warrior. Popcorn will be provided, while it lasts.

New Year's Holiday Hours!

The Maud Marks Branch Library will be closing at 5 pm Thursday, December 31. We will remain closed Friday-Sunday, and reopen on Monday January 4 at 1 pm. Have a safe and happy New Year!

Computer Classes

The Maud Marks Library has some pretty great computer classes tomorrow.  Did you get an iPad or tablet for the holidays?  Tomorrow at 10 AM we will have a Getting Started with Apps class.  Learn all about the hundreds of apps out there to make your life easier, more productive, or even more fun!

At 1 PM is our Twitter class.  Learn to tweet and get back in touch with old friends and family.  You're only allowed 140 characters, can you have your say in less?

Watch Christmas Movies All Weekend Long!

OK, yes, we know that there are Christmas movies running nonstop on television right now.  What are we going to do on Saturday though when they stop?  The library can help with that!  Watch Christmas movies all weekend long and beyond with our Hoopla Database.  Hoopla contains a wide range of books, movies, comics, and TV shows which can be checked out and downloaded right to your device using the Hoopla app.  All you need is your Harris County library card!  Don't have one?  Click here to find out how you can get our Digital Card for free.
