What's Bugging You?

 Don't let the bugs eat up your garden!  The Master Gardeners will be here Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m. to help you get rid of all your pesky bugs.  They will tell you how to use non chemical ways to control the bugs that are bugging you, eating your vegetable garden, and chewing on your flowers. All without harming the beneficial insects.  Yes there are some!  Come to the Green Thumb Gardening class Saturday and find out how to debug your life!

Makerspace, What is THAT?!

Have you heard of the new movement that is sweeping the country?  There is a new way to promote STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) through Makerspace.  Makerspaces are popping up all over the country and we have one right here in Katy.

Elder Law: Wills, Social Security, and More

           Do you know anybody who has questions about Elder Law? Elder Law can include estate planning, guardianship, Medicaid and disabilities. Invite someone and come listen to Lance McLain, a lawyer with the Houston Bar Association’s Speakers Bureau. Today's Monday Maker science will be making paper airplanes and testing how far they will go. The program is for kids in KIndergarten and upper grades. Come try it out!

Student Volunteer Applications

Beginning Friday, May 1, 2015, Summer Volunteer Applications will be available at the library for students entering 7th grade and older. The Maud Marks Library provides a wonderful opportunity for students to serve their community during the summer months. The application needs to be filled out and returned no later than Saturday, May 23, 2015. Each student must attend an orientation. The orientation schedule is provided on the application.
