Preschool Explorers is Back!

The popular Preschool Explorers program is back every Wednesday at 11:15 am. It's geared for the 2 1/2 -5 year old child who loves to explore using their senses. Regular stations of rice, beans, sand, water, clay, paint and building blocks help develop eye hand coordination, math skills, pre-reading skills and spark curiosity. Come join the fun.

Don't Panic, We're Not REALLY Closed!

OK, so the library has closed its physical doors Sunday and Monday, but you have your first major paper due on Tuesday!  What are you going to do?!  Worry not, the library has you covered.  Check out our databases for all your research or studying needs.  Our Digital Media Catalog provides even more books to supplement your research.  Want to relax instead?  Check out our vast collection of movies and TV shows through Hoopla.  What ever you want to do this weekend, we have you covered!

What's the Word on Microsoft Word?

Do you need to type documents for work or personal use? The Maud Marks Library will be offering a Basic Microsoft Word Class in the computer lab on September 5 at 10 AM. This class is a basic introduction to Microsoft Word. Learn how to use the tool bar and create a word document. So come on by the Maud Marks Library on Saturday, September 5 at 10 AM and start typing word documents in no time!

Free Computer Classes for Adults

                         

We have several adult computer classes available in the month of September. Click on the link for our calendar of events to see what classes are available and register early. They fill up fast. On Tuesday, Sept 1, 2015, at 10 am, Computer 101 is offered as an introductory class on basic computer terminology, how to start a computer, and learning the Windows environment. Other classes include eBooks at 1 pm and Microsoft Word at 7 pm. Additional classes throughout the month include Internet Basics, Apple iPad, and Basic Microsoft PowerPoint, to name a few. For a detailed description of available computer classes check out our brochure in the library, or you can call 281-492-8592 for more information.

Book Sale Saturday

Books, DVDs, and CDs are on sale at bargain prices this Saturday, August 29th from 10am till 4pm. Many items are in mint condition and there is a wide variety – everything from children’s books to college textbooks, cookbooks, fiction, romance, music and more. The Friends of Maud Marks Library are have all their inventory on display and for sale.  This is a great way to improve your personal library, pick up some great gifts and support the library.  Proceeds from the sale support the library with its collections and programs such as summer reading program, Saturday computer classes, our ESL and craft programs.
