Snowmen Spotted!

It may not snow often in Katy but the kids at the Maud Marks Branch Library sure know how to decorate a snowman!  This morning in storytime they decorated seasonal snowman hats.  If you missed the craft don't worry, you can make your own.

Share Your Holidays this Friday @ Maud Marks!

Maud Marks Branch Library is the main Katy site for the Share Your Holidays food drive! This Friday, December 4 you can drop off non-perishable food items anytime from 6 am to 6 pm, so stop by on your way to work or during the day.

The Holidays Have Arrived! Are You Ready?

It's beginning to look (and feel) a lot like the December holidays.  Are you ready?!  If not, don't worry at all!  The Maud Marks Library has a number of ways to prepare for the winter holidays.

Are you still trying to find that perfect holiday card for that special someone?  Why not make it yourself?  The Maud Marks Library will be hosting a special one time class on how to make holiday cards tomorrow night, Tuesday, December 1 at 7 PM.  We'll be learning how to make our own cards on the computer and even print one per person.  This class size is extremely limited so click here to register.

Free Money!!!

Do I have your attention yet?!

Yes, I really am talking about free money for you if your home was damaged in Hurricane Ike.  Let's face it, FEMA and insurance payment may not have been enough.  Many people still had to pay quite a bit of money out of pocket to fix their fences, roofs, walls, floors, and other repairs to their homes.  Did you know that you could get all of that money back?

Harris County Recovers is part of the Harris County Homeowner Disaster Recovery program designed to provide financial assistance to homeowners whose property was damaged by Hurricane Ike.  They are here to provide money to pay those massive repair bills.  Even if you have already spent your own money, you may qualify for a reimbursement.

Learn more about this valuable program next week on Thursday, December 3 at 7 PM here at the library.

Believe it or Not! You can make a beautiful Christmas Wreath out of those throw away bags that protect newspapers on rainy days. You can’t get any greener than that.
Join us for the afternoon craft on Wed. Nov. 9 at 4:30 PM. This makes a great group activity because it does take some time to finish a wreath. So brothers and sister can work together or Parent and child. Bring the whole family and share the memory.
