Turkeys Beware!

This is just a reminder to all the wonderful people who come to Maud Marks Library, we will be closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 28th, 29th and 30th, in observance of Thanksgiving.  We will reopen Monday, December 2 @ 1 PM.  We wish everyone a wonderful holiday with family and friends.  Come "rolling in" next month after a sumptuous Thanksgiving dinner!    

Thanksgiving Placements

School-age children ages 6-11 are invited to make their own Thanksgiving placements this Wednesday, November 13 at 4:30 pm. All materials will be provided.

We Really Will Help Save You Money!

You've now applied for college; maybe, you have even been accepted.  But, how are you going to pay for all that higher education?  We have the answer to that question!  This Saturday at 2 PM, experts right out of Austin will be at the Maud Marks Library to answer all your questions about finding financial aid to pay for post-secondary education.  There's more money out there than you might think.  Come by the library to find out how to get your hands on some of it.

Fancy Napkin Folding

With the holidays quickly approaching it is time to think about how to make our holiday table special.  We will be having fun at Maud Marks Library preparing for Thanksgiving.  Come join us Wednesday, November 13th at  2:00 PM as we learn how to fold napkins into fabulous fancy shapes. We will even learn how to fold two napkins into a charming turkey.  There is no cost for the class and everything is provided.  You are welcome to bring your own cloth napkins, nicely starched, to practice with if you like.  We will have paper squares to fold and instructions for you to take home.  You will need to register here for the class starting November 1st. so be sure to mark your calendar and sign up to reserve your spot because the DIY classes fill up quickly.  Hope to see you there!

Holidays ideas at Maud Marks

The nice cooler weather we have been enjoying lately reminds us that the holidays are around the corner. Come to Maud Marks Library to plan your activities. There are books you and your family would want to read about the history of Thanksgiving, Kwanza and Christmas. Menus and recipes, crafts and decorations will be found in books and magazines as well. The library will also present some programs. Just a sneak preview: Afternoon Art on Wednesday Nov 13 will cover Thanksgiving napkins.
