Finding Family Skeletons

The Maud Marks Library has two great opportunities for those of you would like to begin or further your family tree research. One is a genealogy program and the other a field trip to the Clayton Genealogical Library.

Genealogy: Making the Most of Clayton- Susan Kaufman, Manager of the Clayton Genealogical Library will be here 7pm, Monday, October 31 to give us an introduction to the at the Clayton Library. Call or click to register for this program. This takes place Halloween night the perfect time to find those family skeletons!

Come One, Come All...Book Sale Time

The next used book sale at the Maud Marks Library will be from 10 am-4 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2016. There will be lots to choose from so bring the whole family. We will have children's books, hardbacks and paperbacks in all genres, movies, music, and even a few magazines. Come one, come all. Also, the library will accept donations of gently used books for their book sales. Bring the used books in during regular business hours to the lobby of the library and drop them in the bins just inside the main doors.The proceeds from the sales benefit the library and its many, many programs throughout the year.  We hope to see you soon. 

Put Your Face on Facebook!

  Facebook is the world's most popular social networking site. It makes it possible to connect with your family and friends online. On Tuesday, October 25 at 1:00 PM, Maud Marks Library will be offering a computer class on Facebook in the computer lab. In this class you will learn how to set up an account and how to get in touch with friends while ensuring your privacy.

What is Your Story?

The Maud Marks Library has many ways to find your ancestors over the upcoming weeks.  First, this Tuesday, October 25 at 7 PM, we will be teaching a class on Online Genealogy.  A librarian will show you how to find your long lost family members and stories using Library Edition, HeritageQuest, and other online resources.  Then on Wednesday, October 26 at 10 AM, specialists will be here to assist people in using the website and database.  

On Monday, October 31 at 7 PM, Sue Kaufman, manager of the Clayton Genealogical Library, will be here to discuss "How to Get the Most From Your Trip to Clayton."  Come learn strategies for the budding genealogist from the director of one of the top Genealogical libraries in the country.
