College Costs WHAT!?

OK, we all know that college is expensive.  In fact, the cost of college is rising much faster than the average American paycheck.  Fear not!  There is all kinds of money out there if you know where to look for it.   We can help you find it.  Come out to the library next Friday, November 7 at 4 PM for our annual college financial aid seminar.  Lone Star College will be here to show you where to find funds for post-secondary education and lower you out of pocket expenses.

Upcoming Computer Classes

At the Maud Marks Library, we offer computer classes on a variety of topics.  In fact, we have 2 special classes coming up this Tuesday, October 28 for those interested in connecting with others.

At 10 AM, we will be teaching a basic class on the Internet.  Come learn how to search the Internet and find all kinds of information available out on the World Wide Web.

Early Voting Information

Early voting for the November 4 election begins October 20 and runs through October 31. You will need a photo ID in order to cast a ballot.  The early voting  locations near the library are:

Technology Alert: CAC Reader at the Library

The library now has a Common Access Card (CAC) Reader that can be used while in the library.  The CAC is a smart card issued to the military and others who need access to DoD facilities or network systems.  The card may contain data storage, identification, authentication, and application, all accessed electronically with a CAC Reader.
