High School Volunteers Needed!

Our first mandatory orientation at the Maud Marks Branch is Tuesday, August 30 at 6:30pm.  If you’re interested in volunteering at the library and you’re in 9th grade or above be sure to attend!  You can pick up an application at the library or print one here.

Thanks for your help!

Teachers Needed!

At the Maud Marks Library, we are so grateful for all our volunteers.  We have them shelve books, do data entry, scan books, and more.

Right now, the Maud Marks Library needs ESL tutors.  We need people willing to teach adults English on a volunteer basis once a week for at least 9 months.  You don't need to be able to speak another language to teach ESL, in fact, we would prefer if you didn't!  All you need is a willingness to help new immigrants become acclimated with the American way of life.

We will be hosting a tutor training session on Saturday, September 3 at 9 AM.  There is no charge for the session or the training materials.  We'll even feed you lunch!

Please consider joining our very active and important ESL community.

Summer Reading Program Success

Thanks to all the readers and volunteers that participated in the 2011 Summer Reading Program.  We had a very successful turnout  and lots of kids will be going back to school having kept up with their reading skills.
