Find That Dream Job

Are you ready to find that dream job?  We want to help!  On Saturday, April 20 at 10 AM, we will be hosting a class on how to use our Job & Career Accelerator Database.  The database can be used to help you decide which career would be perfect for you.  Then, you can use it to find that perfect job.  Finally, create the ultimate resume and cover letter to get yourself that interview.  Use the database to track the entire process as you work towards getting your dream job!  Learn to do all this and more!

Seating for this and many other classes is extremely limited.  Please visit our calendar to sign up for this and other programs.

Seahorses at Afternoon Art

Children -  Don't forget to come for  Afternoon Art on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 4:00 pm. The art project this month is "Seahorses", one of my favorite sea creatures. I was actually considered a seahorse when I was younger. The name of my childhood swim team was the Seahorses.  They are very fast swimmers. Read all about them at the library. No registration is necessary for Afternoon Art and all supplies are provided.

Dogs Dogs Dogs!

Do you love to pamper your pets?  Be sure to check out the Doggy Party on the Plaza tomorrow, April 6, from noon to 5 at City Center Houston!  There's a parade, costume contest, and more.  Be sure to stop by the Maud Marks Library anytime if you're looking for books on everything from dog care to picking out the perfect pooch. The 636 section in nonfiction has all sorts of great dog books for adults and kids.

The Tax Man Cometh

Here you are minding your own business and before you know it the tax deadline is almost here. Fortunately our good friends from AARP will still be here Mondays and Fridays 10:00am – 2:00pm up until April 15th.  That means you only have four more chances to bring in your tax information if you have questions or need help with your taxes. Be sure to bring all of your paperwork and Social Security numbers for everyone listed on your return.

Volunteer @ the Library!

Do you still need volunteer hours this spring?  How about volunteering at the library?  At Maud Marks, we are always looking for people to help with shelving, holds, and other special projects.  The volunteer program at the library during the school year is open to anyone in high school or older.  All you need to do if you want to help out is come and fill out an application and then join us for our short orientation session.  Our next volunteer orientation is on April 8 at 7 PM.  Turn in your volunteer application now and join us on April 8 for our orientation.
