It is too hot to play in the park so come to Maud Marks Library to sharpen your skills on lego building Monday June 18. Seating is limited due to fire code but there will be two sessions, 2 PM and 3:15 PM. Tickets will be given out when the library is open at 1 PM Monday. So if you are in school age and able to sit alone ask Mom or Dad or Grandpa/ma bring you to Maud Marks library. Better yet, search our online catalog  www.hcpl.net and reserve books about Lego building, Lego creations, Lego Star Wars. Come and have fun

Take the Maud Marks Adult Summer Reading Genre Challege!

Yes, that's right, the summer reading program is no longer just for kids.  At the Maud Marks Library, we have all kinds of prizes for adults to win!

Here's how it works:

1. Register online for the adult summer reading program.

2. Stop by the Maud Marks Library to pick up a "Get a Clue" LBI (Library Books Investigations) card.

3. Read (or listen to) one book in five of the eight eligible categories (romance, western, mystery, fantasy, horror, science-fiction, fiction, and non-fiction).

4. Give your completed LBI card to a librarian to enter in the drawing for one of our movie posters and our grand-prize crimefighting toolkit.

5. Receive a certificate for a free book at our Friends of the Maud Marks Library book sale.

Friday @ the Movies

If "America" were threatened by "Super Villains" what "Captain" would you call to save the day? Come to the Maud Mark's Library for Friday @ The Movies  this Friday, June 8th, 2012, at 1 pm, and see what transpires! Bring an American flag and receive a treat. 

Afternoon Adventures is now on Mondays!

Summer Reading Program starts Monday, June 4 along with our first Afternoon Adventure.  Thunderbird Theater kicks off our first program of the season with Sheriff Jack and the Beanstalk. Tickets available when we open at 1 pm. Our first show is at 2 pm and the second is at 3:15 pm. The adventure continues every Monday through August 6. 

 

A summer of fun

There are still a few more days of school but Maud Marks staff is ready to take you all to a summer of fun. The library has a variety of programs for all ages: from almost a year to 101. There are story times for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. School age children will be treated to magic shows, lego building skill, science activities. Teenagers, beside reading you will have your favorite games of craft every other Thursday or go to the movies with the library on Fridays. We also keep our senior patrons in mind. We will introduce you to Facebook to stay in touch with your family, eBooks and eAudio to enjoy a different way of reading.
