Tax Time

To those of you like me, who take their time in figuring out their taxes, you still have the opportunity to get them done for you here at the Maud Marks Library. The AARP Volunteers are here on Mondays from 10 am - 2 pm and Fridays from 10 am - 2 pm.  They are set up in the meeting room located off the main lobby.  It is on a first come first serve basis.  Be sure to bring all the appropriate paperwork and I.D., or you won't be happy when they turn you away. Good news is they will be here through April 16th.  BUT... don't forget we are closed on Friday, April 6th for Good Friday.

Spring Craft Today at Maud Marks!

If you know an elementary-aged child who likes art be sure to come to the Afternoon Art program! It's today, March 28, at 4:30 pm in the meeting room and we'll be using tissue paper and glue to make pictures that look like watercolor paintings.  This event is free thanks to support from the Friends of the Maud Marks Library.

Texas Day Highlights

Arrest warraCook Arrested for Buyin' Salsa from NYCnts were served on a number of our customers Saturday March 3rd at our Texas Heritage Day Program.  Family members and friends paid the sheriff to arrest their loved and not-so-loved ones for charges ranging from “Burpin’ Dr Pepper” to “Parkin’ Healthy Horse in Library Handicapped Parking.”  The cook who was demonstrating outdoor Texas cooking was arrested for “Buyin’ Salsa from New York City!”  The librarian was even arrested, but I have it on good authority that she was framed – no way would she ever use beef jerky as a bookmark!
