Hard to believe we are half way through the summer already. Have you been reading and recording your progress? Registered Summer Reading Program adults who complete at least 5 genre challenges can be entered into a drawing for our grand prize, gift cards, and/or a Kindle. Teens can enter drawings for movie gift cards and reading packs. Kids can enter drawings for puppets. Teen Craft – Decoupage!

If you’re 11 or older be sure to join us at the Maud Marks Branch this Thursday, July 11 at 3pm for our decoupage craft.  We’ll be decorating boxes with scraps of maps and magazines, so you can create something that’s perfect for your individual style!   All materials are provided. 

Learn to Knit

Ever wanted to learn how to knit?  Pick up a new skill this summer with DIY craft programs.  This series of do-it-yourself programs is designed to introduce you to a new skill or craft each month.  Wednesday, July 10th we will teach a beginner’s class in knitting.  Just bring some #10 knitting needles.  We’ll provide the yarn and plenty of help!  The program starts at 2:00 pm.  Click here to register.   Image © JupiterImages  


Go Wild Science and Reading Program

Children in grades kindergarten and up are welcome to join us Monday, July 8 @ 1:30 pm or 3 pm for a Julian Franklin Production. This high energy variety show Includes magic tricks, puppetry, jokes and science. We begin stamping hands a half hour before the show. Seating is limited.

Independence Day... 4th of July


Fireworks and barbecue… is that what it’s all about?  That’s the celebratory part of the day we attempt to remember our country’s freedom from foreign rule; Independence Day or also known as The 4th of July.  Americans come together and continue what  began in 1776, that … “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”  (from The Declaration of Independence) We will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, 2013,  and reopen on Friday, July 5. Celebrate and enjoy your holiday!
