February Favorites

Searching for something to read for February can be just a click away. Whether it’s Groundhog’s Day, the Super Bowl, Lincoln’s Birthday, Valentine’s Day, or President’s Day, the library has something to offer.

Also, the Friends of the Maud Marks Library have bundled together some gently used books for sale for Valentine’s Day. Come in and take a look and buy a basketful of books for your valentine. The proceeds help fund programs at the library.

Are You Going to College?

Are you ready to take the SAT?  No?  We can help prepare you.  On Saturday, February 9, Kaplan will be here at 10:15 AM to give a Mock SAT under REAL testing conditions.  Then, Kaplan will grade the tests for free and let you know how you did and how you can do better when it comes time to take the exam for real.  Learn tips and tricks for improving you score on one of the most important tests you will ever take.

Please keep in mind that you will be taking the entire SAT.  The exam lasts for 4 hours, until 2:15 PM.  Please bring with you #2 pencils, a calculator, and a snack.

Seating is limited for this and many of our programs.  Click here to register for this and other programs at the library.

Seek and ye shall find...

Have you been looking for a book and not been able to find it in our HCPL catalog? Was it published at least 6 months ago? Maybe we can help you find it through our Interlibrary Loan system.  Books can be ordered from lending libraries from all over the country. Some lending libraries have books that are out of print and old editions that are hard to find. If this interests you click on the above link and read all about it. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call us. We are ready to serve you.
