Spring Break Storytimes

Remember that storytimes at the Maud Marks Branch are the same over spring break:

Toddlers (18-36 months): Tuesdays at 10:15am, 11:15am, or Wednesdays at 10:15am (tickets required; we start handing them out when we open at 10am to the first 30 toddlers)

Preschoolers (ages 3-5): Wednesdays at 11:15am

Babies (0-18 months): Thursdays at 10:15am or 11:15am

We'll see you there!

Spring Break Movies

During spring break we will be showing  family movies every afternoon at 3 pm. Here are your clues: Monday the movie clue is: "there's no place like home". Tuesday the movie clue is: the opposite of scared. Wednesday the movie clue is: aargh! Thursday the movie clue is: a boy and his loyal dog Snowy hunt for a sunken treasure.  Friday the movie clue is: something that rabbits do.

Spring Break Volunteers

Need some volunteer hours over Spring Break? We have a short term project (1 week) needing a lot of volunteer hours. You can help the library by volunteering  to help us during Patron Count week, March 11-16. We need a volunteer to sit at a table in our lobby every hour the library is open to the public to count each person who enters. This is a perfect opportunity for high school students needing service hours for NHS or other organizations.

Steps For Starting Your Own Business

Have you ever thought about starting your own business but weren’t sure where to start? Sometimes reading a book about it helps, while other times taking a class can be better. SCORE(a volunteer group that offers business counseling to small business owners) is conducting a class on the things you might need to know for starting your own business, from  choosing the actual business to the financial organization involved in running it.

Pre-registration is required for the Saturday afternoon class, March 9, 2013, starting at 2 pm and ending at 4 pm. Come with all your questions and find the answers you may need.

Black History Month Book Display

Be sure to stop by the Maud Marks Library and check out our display of books celebrating Black History Month!  There are biographies, fiction, and children’s books.  Don’t see what you’re looking for? Just ask and we can request additional books for you.  Here are a few to get you started:
