A summer of fun

There are still a few more days of school but Maud Marks staff is ready to take you all to a summer of fun. The library has a variety of programs for all ages: from almost a year to 101. There are story times for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. School age children will be treated to magic shows, lego building skill, science activities. Teenagers, beside reading you will have your favorite games of craft every other Thursday or go to the movies with the library on Fridays. We also keep our senior patrons in mind. We will introduce you to Facebook to stay in touch with your family, eBooks and eAudio to enjoy a different way of reading. Check it out. The program is posted on our website http://www.hcpl.net/location/maud-smith-marks-branch-library

What Do I Read Next?

Ahh, the anticipation of coming to the end of a really great story – the excitement builds, the action is riveting, the ending is awesome …and  then you realize you’re out of books! You’re out of ideas and your favorite authors all seem to be on vacation.  Now what?
Now is when you let our BookHunters service step in.  Just fill out the form and we’ll get back to you with 10 different authors/titles to try out. The form has a number of questions about your reading preferences so we can get the best matches possible.

Memorial Day USA

Harris County Public Libraries will be closed on Memorial Day, May 28, 2012. Memorial Day is a day to remember those who have given their all in service to our country.  It was originally called Decoration Day to honor the decorated veterans.  Decorating graves goes back to before the Civil War. Read about it and pass the stories along.

Happy Graduation!

We would like to congratulate all of our volunteer students, family members, staff, and customers who have completed a milestone in their education. May you find success and happiness. Good Luck!
