Do you want to get tropical?  Then Celebrate Asian-Pacific Heritage Month with a Hawaiian Craft and get a taste of Summer too! We'll be " going to a hukilau" with lei-making, Hawaiian music and Asian-inspired refreshments. The fun begins at 4:30 pm this Wednesday, May 7 in the Public Meeting Room. Recommended for ages 4 and up.

Strings Attached Granny Square Challenge Continues

Granny Square Lap QuiltGranny Square Lap QuiltThe Strings Attached Granny Square Challenge continues!  All this month Strings Attached will be collecting granny squares to make into lap quilts.  The quilts will then be donated to area nursing home residents.  Granny squares of any pattern or color are welcome.  Patterns will be available at the front desk.  Drop off squares at the front desk or come join us.  Beginner Strings Attached will be meeting on Wednesday, May 21 at 4 pm in the meeting room and the adult group of Strings Attached will meet again on May 30 at 1:30 pm.  

 

Book Sale This Weekend

book saleHelp the library raise money and stock your bookshelves at the same time!  The Friends of the North Channel Library will be holding their monthly Book Sale this Friday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 3rd during the library's open hours.  The Friends group has all types of books and movies for sale.  All proceeds from the sale go directly to the North Channel Library to fund various library needs, such as summer performers, books and other items.  Don't miss our book sale this weekend!

Learn Gardening Basics

Bring your questions and begin your gardening journey at one of our two Gardening Basics programs this month! Come either Friday, April 25th at 1:30 PM or Wednesday, April 30th at 6:00 PM and have your gardening questions answered!                                 
 

World Book Night

The reading is free! Enjoy activities based on The Ruins of Gorlan, the first book in the Ranger's Apprentice series by Australian author John Flanagan. Archery and refreshments for all!

North Channel Branch and Books-A-Million have teamed up to host our first annual  World Book Night at 4:30 pm Wednesday at 15741 Wallisville Rd in the Public Meeting Room.

World Book Night is an annual celebration dedicated to spreading the joy of reading. Each year on April 23, tens of thousands of people go out into their communities and give half a million free World Book Night paperbacks to light and nonreaders.
