The Book Thief by Markus ZusakSome people you simply cannot ignore.  Some people you just cannot forget.  In 1939 Germany, Liesel Meminger catches the attention of Death, who narrates Markus Zusak's novel, "The Book Thief."   Though Death tries to ignore the small girl, she simply will not go unnoticed.  Finding her way into the home of the Hubermann's of Himmel Street, Liesel finds love in midnight reading lessons and accordion music.  As her world teeters on the brink of, and then falls swiftly into, war, Liesel discovers how words can make all the difference.
