HCPL Harvey FAQs

I could not return my library materials because I could not reach the library due to high water. Am I still responsible for the late fees? 

If you return your books by September 15, you will not accrue late fees.

UPDATE: Most HCPL Branches Resume Normal Business Hours & Programming, Monday, Sept. 11.

Harris County Libraries/North Channel closed

North Channel Branch and all Harris County Libraries will remain ***closed due to inclement weather ***Friday, August 25 thru Monday, August 28. Please check the Harris County Library website at www.hcpl.net, Facebook or Twitter @harriscountypl for further updates concerning library openings. A decision will most likely be made by 4pm on Monday regarding possible reopening on Tuesday, August 29. Fines will not be charged for items due over the weekend. Adjustments will be made when libraries reopen.Please be safe!

Back to School Storytime

Is your backpack ready? Don't miss the bus! Join us for a timely Preschool Storytime this week, on Tuesday, August 22 at 1:30pm, when we'll explore back to school themes including school supplies, school buses, and teachers of course...After storytime, we'll create our own miniature backpacks from a lunch bag! Preschool Storytime is scheduled year round every Tuesday at 1:30pm and is recommended for ages 3-6 years old and their parents or caregivers. MeeTeen Solar Eclipse Viewer Craft

Eclipse viewerTeens and tweens, come learn about solar eclipses and make your own pinhole viewer using everyday materials.  Come to the North Channel Library meeting room on Thursday, August 17th, at 4:30 pm to create your own viewer for Monday's eclipse.
