Houston Food Bank Will Provide Nutritious, Free Lunches to Kids at Our Library This Summer

Harris County Public Library is proud to announce that thirteen HCPL branches will provide nutritious, free lunches to children in low income areas of Harris County through the Houston Food Bank’s Kids Café program. Only children 1 – 18 years are eligible. Meals and snacks are provided on a first come, first served basis. Supplies are limited, but will be adjusted depending on demand.

June 13 – August 5
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
Lunch 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Snack 4:00 – 5:00 pm

Senior Social This Saturday

Board GamesThe Northwest Branch Library is declaring this Saturday as Senior Saturday! To celebrate we are inviting all seniors to come and socialize around a number of games. Join us as we break out games like Monopoly, Sudoku, Scrabble and table tennis.

The festivities begin at 12:30 PM, Saturday, June 25.

Saturday Magic Show!

Bunny in HatKids, join us this Saturday, June 18, for Professor Hughdini, Houston's best kept secret! Enjoy a high energy magic show filled with lots of comedy, music, audience participation and live animals.

The show is for ages 5-11 and will start at 2:00 PM in our meeting room. Space is limited, and a ticket is required. Tickets are issued at our service desk 30 minutes prior to the start of the show.

Create Your Own Patch

PatchesTeens, complete that DIY wardrobe by creating you own patches to go onto your clothes. Patches are essential for expressing one's self and there's no better patch for that than one you create from scratch. They're your very own mini blank canvases!

As always this is a free program. Join us in the meeting room Wednesday, June 15, at 4:00 PM.

Chill Skills for the Summer

Teens in the LibraryTeens, join us for Chill Skills. Cy-Fair Community Youth Services Specialist, Theresa Williams, will be on hand to discuss anger management, social skills, and dealing with bullies and self-esteem. We'll meet at 4:00 PM every other Thursday, starting June 9. A parent/guardian signature is required to attend Chill Skills, and the permission slip is available day of at each program.
