Simple Steps for Starting Your Business 

Starting a business remains very challenging to many aspiring entrepreneurs.  In this workshop, participants will learn simple yet proven and tested steps for starting a new business.  At the end of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to meet SCORE  certified mentors who are readily available to provide FREE and CONFIDENTIAL mentoring.

Participants will learn and understand the following:    

  • Realities of entrepreneurship
  • Critical success factors
  • Components of Business Ownership
  • Making your Business Legal

E-Media and Apps Workshop

 E-Media and Apps workshop are available at the Northwest Branch Library in December. If you need help with downloading eBooks through Overdrive, or help with Hoopla, Flipster, or One Click Digital please bring your device for hands on assistance.

The workshops are being offered on December 7, 14, and 21 @ 3:00 PM and December 10 at 10:00 AM.

Festive Fizzy Shapes

Saturday, December 3rd at 1:00 PM join the High Five Science Club presented by the University of Houston Be a Teacher Club and make Festive Fizzy Shapes. First, listen to the book Pancakes, Pancakes by Eric Carle. Next, the kids will be putting baking soda, glitter, etc. along with colored vinegar in Christmas cookie cutters and the fizziness will make the shape of the cookie cutter.  Get a free ticket 30 minutes early at the desk. Limit 10, For kids 1st-3rd grade.

Books Alive! from the page to the stage

Join us Tuesday, December 6th at 10:30 AM for a professionally staged, original 45 minute musical adapted from the beloved book Tacky the Penguin by Helen Lester. It will be performed by the group Books Alive! from the page to the stage. Discover how Tacky teaches the other Penguins about acceptance by saving them from the Hunter!  What a wonderful way to introduce your child to the theater. This is a show for children 3-6 years. Please come 30 minutes early to get a free ticket, it will be limited to 70 people.
