Exploring Thailand @ The Library

Each year in May, the Atascocita Branch Library, presents programs to celebrate Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month. This is an incredible opportunity for families to learn a little about  Asian, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander peoples and their culture.  This year, we learned about Thailand.

Families Are Invited To Celebrate Asian-Pacific Heritage Month

Families are invited to enjoy a fun shadow puppet show, a craft and and a Thai treat.

The puppet show will be presented by our Teen Advisory Board.

We Are Here to Support You

At the Atascocita Branch Library we have several tools to support you and the needs of your students.

Storytime Bagged Kits
Ms Susan and I have created 61 themed storytime kits. Each bag includes approximately 10 to 12 picture books that are appropriate for children through elementary school students. These books are wonderful read-a-loud items and have been chosen to compliment a basic curriculum. Teachers love the kits to use in their classrooms. On the other hand, we love to hear your feedback and if there is a subject that we have not covered please let us know. We can help you find additional materials. If it is a subject that will benefit the community as a whole; we might even be able to create a new kit.

Texas Bluebonnets

As many of you already know bluebonnets are the Texas state flower. Today, in Toddle Time, we had fun learning  the Texas Bluebonnet song.  If you were not able to attend, or would like to extend your experience, I have included resources below.  The best time to see the bluebonnets is during the month of April, but you still might be able to find a few patches here or there.
