Teens: Gear Up For Video Game Jam 2010!

With only 3 weeks left until the end of the Summer Reading Program, the countdown for Video Game Jam 2010 begins! On Saturday, August 7th from 5-7pm, teens will take over the Atascocita Library for an evening of video games, pizza and prizes. How do you get tickets for this event? First, register for the Teen Summer Reading Program and make sure you list the Atascocita Library as your branch. Second, read 15 books or 1800 minutes and log them either online or on paper. Third, drop by the library to pick up your prizes and permission slip for the event. Your permission slip must be turned in by Friday, August 6th.

Sharpie Tie Dye Program: Tuesday, July 20th

Tuesday, July 20th @ 3:30 p.m.

The library staff will be presenting a Sharpie tie-dying program for kids. We will provide a bandana for children to use during the program. However, I would like to suggest that children bring a  white t-shirt that has been prewashed and dried for the project. 

Frog Program presented by Jesse Jones Park: Monday, July 19th

Learn about the frogs that call Texas their home.  Jesse Jones Park will present a special program on amphibians.

Rummy to the Rescue!

Children are invited to come meet Rummy, a blind Siberian Husky, who was rescued off the streets of Houston. He has now become a celebrity, and even has traveled to Hollywood. He now is working to help other dogs that need rescuing. Come meet Rummy and learn how you can help other animals.
