Teens: Celebrate Lunar New Year With Club Anime

Celebrate a belated Lunar New Year with an evening of anime, crafts, sushi, Pocky and prizes! Join us for our annual Club Anime Lunar New Year Marathon and 5th Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, February 24th starting at 5pm. In February 2006, Club Anime met in our little conference room to watch Macross and Diamond Daydreams. Five people showed up for that first meeting. Five years later, we have grown to over 25 members, watched a lot of anime and devoured unknown amounts of Pocky. Don't miss the celebration!

Black History Month Display

Next time you visit the Atascocita Branch Library, make sure to stop at our display on African Americans and the Civil War.  Please let us know if you would like to check out any of the books, or if you would like additional assistance finding items. This display was created by Circulation Assistant,  Janet Gibbons.

Additional Information

Underground Railroad, American Civil War

Most African Americans resisted enslavement. Whenever possible, individuals attempted to liberate themselves by running away. This Web site explores the history of the Underground Railroad that existed in the early 19th century to help enslaved people flee the South. The site contains topic headings, a chronology of events, photographs, maps, and more!

Teens: Candy, Crafts, and Karaoke!
