Winner of Parker Williams Adult Summer Reading Drawing




Congratulations to Velia Tudon, winner of a $30.00 Amazon gift card at the Parker Williams Branch. Ms. Tudon’s name was chosen randomly in the Adult Summer Reading prize drawing.  “Since I’m a recent retiree this was my first time to join and I was excited to finally have the time to do this.  I’m looking forward to next summer.”  When asked about her plans for the gift card, Ms. Tudon said she will be applying the funds toward the purchase of a Kindle Fire.  

Computer Classes for September

The following computer classes will be offered in September.

Internet Security I and II - September 10th and 12th, 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  Come to your library and learn about online safety as well as some tips and tricks to keep your PC/Laptop running smoothly and virus-free.
You may bring your laptop and try some of the suggestions on your own system.

E-mail Basic I and II - September 24th and 26th, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.  Come to your library and learn all about email. We'll show you how to get an account, use it, attach files, create contacts, etc.

Computer Classes for July

The following computer classes will be offered in July.

MS PowerPoint I and II - presented on July 9 and July 11, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.    You must attend Part I in order to register for Part II.  These are not computer classes for beginners.  Some basic computer knowledge is required. 

Computer Basics I and II - presented on July 23 and July 25, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.  This class introduces a first time user to the desktop computer.  Participants will be familiarized with terms used and with different components and features of the computer.

To register for classes you may either stop by the reference desk or phone the library at 281-484-2036 and one of the librarians will sign you up for the classes, or you can register yourself by going to the events calendar.
