Study for the GED online

If you have been interested in studying for your GED but have difficulty scheduling a class in person, you may be interested in an online class that will begin soon.  Parker Williams Branch Library, 10851 Scarsdale, will host orientation and pretesting on July 6 from 1 to 4:30 p.m.  for an online GED preparation class sponsored by College of the Mainland.  The only requirements for registration are as follows:

Dinosaur Discovery

Houston Museum of Natural ScienceWhat was it like to be a dinosaur?  Find out when the Houston Museum of Natural Science's Earth Science on Wheels visits the Parker Williams Library on Thursday, June 16th . Children will examine museum quality casts of carnivorous and herbivorous dinosaurs.  There will be two presentations of the program Dinosaur Discovery.  The first will be at 1:30pm and the second will begin at 2:30pm. 

Space is limited for these programs and free tickets are required.  The tickets will be available at the reference desk on the day of the program.  Children must be old enough to attend the program without an adult.  The recommended age is 5 and up.

The Snakeman

Thomas Davis, aka The Snakeman, will be back at the library to help kick off our summer reading program.   He will be doing two shows on Monday, June 6th.   The fist show will begin at 1:30pm and the second will start at 3:00pm.  Space is limited and free tickets for the show will be available at the reference desk on Monday.  Children must be old enough to attend the program without an adult.  The recommended age is 5 and up.

May Book Sale Cancelled

The Friends of the Parker Williams Branch will not have a book sale May 28.  The next  book sale will be June 25.

Book Sale

The Friends of the Parker Williams Library will be having their monthly book sale on Saturday, April 30th,  from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Come and find some great deals on hardback books, paperbacks, books for children, CDs, DVDs, and magazines.

The book sale will be held in the large meeting room located by the County Clerk's office.
