Early voting begins in Harris County on Monday, October 18th at 8am. There are three locations close to the Parker Williams Library : I.B.E.W Hall #66 (Pasadena), Harris County Courthouse Annex #5 (Pasadena), and the Freeeman Branch Library (Clear Lake). Are you interested in helping someone learn to speak, read and write English? If so, we could use your help. No prior teaching experience is necessary. All you need to do is register for the training session offered on Saturday, October 23, from 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Have you just discovered an interest in family genealogy and don't know where to start? If so, come to a meeting of the Parker Williams Library Genealogy Group. Meetings are held twice a month at 2:00 p.m. in the library's meeting room. Bring whatever information and questions you have and this group will be more than happy to discuss the best way for you to begin your search.
Two lucky people who compete in Parker Williams Library's Hispanic Heritage Month Trivia Contest will win gift cards. Contest forms must be completed and returned by October 13th. Forms are available at the library. Contestants must be at least 18 years old.
The Friends of the Parker Williams Library will be having their monthly book sale on Saturday, September 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Come and find some great deals on hardback books, paperbacks, books for children, CDs, DVDs, and magazines.
