Does your child or a child you know love ballet? Children ages 4 to 13 are invited to come and join the Houston Ballet as they present the Spanish Ballet Sleeping Beauty this Monday, June 18 at 3:00 PM. This program will be a one-hour storytelling experience that introduces students to the art form of ballet. This educational program guides them through the plot of a Sleeping Beauty ballet by sharing abbreviated video clips of a Houston Ballet production. The interactive hands-on experience will include costumes, props and pointe shoes for students to examine.
June 11, 2018 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm Monday- Friday, the South Houston Branch Library will be serving FREE Lunch to children ages 1-18 years of age. New this year, the parent or guardian accompanying the child(ren) can also enjoy a healthy meal. No ID required. Meals will be provided by the Houston Food Bank Summer Food Service Program. ABCmouse is a computer-based program for young children that helps them learn to read through phonics, and also provides lessons in math, social studies, art, music, and more. Harris County Public Library provides free access to ABCMouse at all branches. Children ages 5-8 are invited to come and explore the world of ABCMouse with iPads at the South Houston Branch Library on Thursday, June 14 at 3:00 PM. 
Come have a fun time at the movies without having to buy a ticket tomorrow at our Adult Movie Mania! This Friday June 8th at 3:00 PM adults are invited to enjoy the movie musical Grease, a 1978 old time favorite romantic comedy film based on the musical of the same name. 
Calling all Scientists! If you are ready to have fun with science, then the Nutty Scientist show is for you. Kids ages 5-13 are invited to attend the Nutty Scientist Castaway show this Thursday, June 7, at 3:00 PM, where they will explore incredible experiments and will have a chance to volunteer as "brave assistants" during the program.
