May 9-15 is National Women's Health Week!  Find out more about being healthy by checking out our Health and Medicine Databases, which you can access with your Harris County Public Library Card.  These databases contain an abundance of information on health and medicine. You can also check out some of our health books here at the library.

Esta semana, como ya es tradicion, los mexicanos orgullosamente celebramos la historica batalla de Puebla. En 1862, el ejercito mexicano triunfo sobre los invasores franceses en la ciudad de Puebla. Tres veces los franceses  fueron rechazados y  finalmente derrotados. Busque mas informacion sobre la historia de la celebracion del cinco de Mayo visitando nuestra biblioteca. Arbor Day

Today, April 30, is Arbor Day! Arbor Day was first celebrated more than one hundred years ago, in 1872, and is celebrated here on the last Friday in April. Arbor Day is a day to celebrate and plant trees, and for celebrating the forests. Celebrate Arbor Day by planting a tree at your house, or by learning about trees and forests.  Here are a few books from the library that might help you choose a tree for your yard, and will help you learn more about trees and about Arbor Day.
