Green Thumb Lecture Series: Low-Maintenance Gardening

TX native plantsIs gardening in Houston starting to feel more and more like a chore?  Have you been dreaming of a great-looking garden that can fend for itself for weeks at a time?  Then make sure to visit your local library!  The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Harris County Master Gardeners will present their August lecture on low-maintenance gardening, where you can learn how to create a garden that fits your lifestyle.

Summer Reading Program

Join us for a super summer of reading from June 1 to August 8 with the Summer Reading Program for children and adults of all ages. Create your summer reading logs at www.hcpl.net or come into the library to get started. "Every Hero Has a Story" is the theme for babies and younger readers with a free book and certificate of recognition for each child who completes 10 books. "Unmask" is the theme for teen readers (ages 12-18) with a backpack for completing five books. "Escape the Ordinary" is the theme for adults with a water bottle prize for completing five books. Ask about our "Hero's Quest" to earn online badges!
