Pioneer Cooking

What did the pioneers eat? How did the cook their food? What utensils did they use?  Come and learn about this most basic aspect of life in the frontier!  Mr. Monte Parks, from the Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center, will bring food that he has prepared and cooked over an open fire, will talk about smoking meat and much more.  Date: Monday, Oct. 13, 7:00 pm.  All adults invited.  This program is presented in conjunction with this year's Gulf Coast Reads selection, Remember Ben Clayton, by Stephen Harrigan.

Do you dread the idea of having somebody send you an e-mail or advising you to look something up on the Internet?  Well, fear no more!  It is time to gather up your courage and head to one of our computer classes.  This month we are offering:

All sessions are scheduled for Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

But as work on the statue progresses, secrets slowly reveal themselves and Gil’s fragile family threads begin to fray."  This is a Gulf Coast Reads selection.
