1001 Books Before Kindergarten!

This adorable little girl, Emberlynn,  is the first child to receive her completion certificate for the 1001 Books  Before Kindergarten program at the LSC-Tomball Community Library!  This early literacy reading initiative encourages you to read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, toddler or preschooler and keep track using specially designed reading logs.  It’s a simple concept with priceless rewards!  And, while the goal to read 1001 books may seem like a lot, if you read only 1 book a day, in 1 year that is 365 books, 730 books in 2 years and 1095 books in 3 years! The logs can be downloaded  and printed out at home, or, you can ask for one at the children’s reference desk the next time you visit.  When you complete each log, we’ll stamp it, date it and give you the next one to continue until you’ve completed the program!  Congratulations to Emberlynn for a job well done!
