Teen Art - Dynamic Drawing!

    Hey Teens!  Are you interested in taking your drawing skills to the next level?  Join us for a drawing class in our next teen art series taught by artist, Paige Carpenter.  This FREE program on Wednesday, October 4th from 5-6pm will focus on drawing dynamic gestures and action poses inspired by comics and manga.  Required registration is currently ongoing by calling 832-559-4200 or by visiting the 1st floor reference desk.  For teens ages 13-18.

 

Pirates Only!

  Ahoy, me hearties!  Scallywags ages 8 - 12 can come to the Children's Area on Thursday, October 5th at 5 pm and have fun at a Pirates Only program!  Learn about pirates, play pirate games, design your own treasure map and more!   Required registration begins 1 week in advance by calling 832-559-4235.    Don't forget to come dressed as your favorite buccaneer...Arrgh…

Open Mic Night

Come share your musical talents with us at our unplugged Open Mic Night! Whether you play an instrument or sing, perform covers or your own songs, we want to hear it. Sign-ups for performances will take place at the program. Adults and teens ages 15 and up are welcome.

Open Mic Night will take place in the first floor Meeting Room (L129) on Thursday, September 28th starting at 6:30 pm.

Celebrate Johnny Appleseed!

Celebrate Johnny Appleseed's birthday on Thursday, September 21st at 5pm in the Children's Area.  Learn all about this American pioneer named John Chapman,who introduced apple trees to many parts of the Northern United States and Canada.  Each attendee will make their own yummy caramel apple creation to eat and enjoy!  This program is for children ages 7-12 and requires registration by calling 832-559-4235.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration!

 Hispanic Herirage Month, an annual event which runs from September 15th to October 15th, celebrates the history, culture and contributions made by American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.  We invite you and your family to join us at the library on Saturday, September 23rd from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm and enjoy a performance by Las Americas Ballet Folklorica along with crafts for kids and teens.  Light refreshments will be served.  For more information, call the Library at 832-559-4200.
