This weekend: Business Seminar and Hispanic Dancers!

On Friday, October 4th, the library is hosting the second in the Business Success Seminar series. This month we are featuring Daniel Kainer, an LSC professor and small business owner who will be introducing Amazon.com’s Fulfillment sales program. Mr. Kainer will show you had you can create and build this program to sell your own products.

On Saturday, October 5th, as part of Hispanic Heritage month, the Tierra de Mis Raíces Dancers will perform dances from a number of Latin American countries—and then they will teach us how to dance with them. That’s at 1 p.m. in the library lobby.

ESL Tutor Training September 28

At LSC-Tomball Community Library, requests for help in mastering the English language are ongoing. People attempting English for the first time and veterans who want to improve their grammar, reading, writing, or accent keep inquiring; so we try to match these eager adult learners with a volunteer tutor.

Are you interested in becoming a volunteer tutor? You don’t need skills in another language and you don’t need to be an expert. We’re having a training day on Saturday, September 28, from 9 a.m. to 12:30, at the Barbara Bush Library on Cypresswood. So now would be a good time to sign up. Call us at 832-559-4200.

Winners Show at the Library

Every spring and fall the Tomball Art League puts on an Exhibition and Show in the Tomball Community Center. For those of you who missed it, many of the winning paintings are displayed this month in our meeting room, room L-129. If the room happens to be locked when you come, just ask a librarian at the reference desk to open it for you.
