Have Book Will Travel

If you've been in the library this summer you have probably noticed the travel theme for our Summer Reading programs. Along the Round Wall display are Adult fiction and non-fiction books from every continent. Help yourself to a good exotic summer read!

Marionette Puppet Show!

  On Monday, July 15th at 3:00pm, Jean Kuecher will be at the Children's Library to tell the story of  Aladdin and Princess Jasmine with marionette puppets!  It's fun for all ages and its FREE!  Call 832-559-4235 for more information!

Silent Film Star!

the endThere are only four more weeks of summer reading left, but we’ve got lots of awesome programs still to come! On Tuesday, bring your friends and come star in a silent movie! We’ll provide the props, you provide the acting chops. For teens and tweens ages 10-18. Meet in the first floor Meeting Room on Tuesday, July 16 from 3:00-4:30pm. Parental permission is REQUIRED to participate. Permission forms available at the Reference Desk.

Then, on Thursday, spend the day at the library for part 2 of the Magical Movie Marathon! Bring food, drinks and friends for an exciting trio of movies, or check out the schedule and stop by for your favorite. For all ages, but some movies are rated PG-13. Meet in the first floor Meeting Room on Thursday, July 18 from 1:00-9:00pm.

Children's Puppetry Workshop!

Hey kids!  Monday - Friday (July 15th – 19th), from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, the Children’s Department is having a Puppetry Workshop!  Learn about the art of Puppetry and create fabulous puppets of your own!  Please note that it is important for participants to attend each session as some puppets will require work each day to complete.  This program is for children who have completed 3rd through 5th grade.  All supplies are provided, but, space is limited and preregistration is required.  Call 832-559-4235 to register!

Children's Movie Day!

  Thursday, July 11th at 3:00 pm, the PG rated animated movie Rise of the Guardians will be showing in the Children’s Activity room When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world.  Bring a drink with a lid, we’ll provide the popcorn!
