Remembering

This week we remember again the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The book display we created last year featured books documenting the assaults on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the failed assault on the Capitol Building by hijacked United Airlines Flight 93. The books didn’t check out. They had checked out the previous year but last year they didn't move. That set me to wondering if we had entered a new phase in our collective grieving.

Art Explorers around the World!

The first "stop" on our artistic trek around the world is the United States! On Monday, September 10th at 1:00 pm and Tuesday, September 11th at 4:30 pm, kids will have fun learning about art forms and artists from the U.S. and painting a landscape inspired by Grandma Moses!  This program meets in the Children's Department!  Each session is limited to 20 children (2nd- 6th grade).  Call 832.559.4235 to register!
