We Had a "Super" Time!

A great BIG thank you to all the children (and their parents) who participated in this year’s Summer Reading program “every hero has a story”!  We kicked it off in June with Crocodile Encounter and the fun didn’t stop until every child who braved the 100+ heat got to meet the wonderful animals from Miss Marsha’s Petting Zoo on August 3rd!  With Summer winding down and school about to resume, we hope you continue to visit - our weekly story times continue year round.  And, starting September 1st, afterschool programming and school year programming resumes.  Please check the Tomball branch calendar for a complete listing of all of our super programs!

Northwest Art League Exhibiting in August

Northwest Art League is back this month with more paintings for you to enjoy in the Meeting Room, Room L-129! Carol Carranza, Susan Garrison, Carmen Lorzi, Dorothy Lyons, and Janice Smith have contributed their work to grace our walls for another month.
Did you know that you can book the Meeting Room for your (non-commercial) meetings? It holds up to fifty people and has a small kitchen with a refrigerator for your refreshments. We also have a PowerPoint projector, should you need it. Call the library or drop by the Reference deck to book it. And then you can sit and enjoy the Northwest Art League’s paintings as you converse.

August Computer Classes

keyboardDid you know that the library hosts computer classes for adults? Whether you are interested in using a computer for the first time, or just want a refresher course, there is a class for you. We even offer two classes a month taught in Spanish!

All computer classes scheduled for August are listed below. Click on the class title to go to the registration page. Pre-registration is appreciated, but not required.

For more information or to register for classes, call the library at 832-559-4200.

Luau this Saturday to celebrate Summer Reading's Finale

Come to the library this Saturday, August 8th, for Luau @ the Library from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Expect festivities, fun, and food!

Join David Whipkey, Bromeliad Society International Master Judge and President of the Bromeliad Society/Houston, as he shares how to plant and care for bromeliads. Several of these beautiful plants will be given away, so don't miss the opportunity to start or cultivate your own love of bromeliads.

Then stay for the rest of the fun! Imagine hula hoops, ukulele serenades, crafts, photo ops with Elvis and a surfing selfie wall, temporary tattoos, food, and laughter all round! That's Saturday from 10:30 til 1:00.
