Rearranging Books in the Teen Room

Lone StarAttention all readers of the Texas Lone Star list! We have done a bit of rearranging in the Teen Room. Now, Lone Star books from the current list and last year’s list will be located inside the Teen Room on the last section of shelves by the teen magazines. Books from older lists are now shelved in Young Adult fiction inside the Teen Room.

If you still can’t find the Lone Star books or just have questions, come talk to a librarian. And check out this awesome post for a look at the 2013 Lone Star list!

Amelia Bedelia Celebrates a Landmark Birthday

Amelia Bedelia, the well-meaning housemaid in Peggy Parish's famous children's books of the same name, is fifty years old! We are celebrating her birthday with an interactive display. Those of you who have loved her books will remember that Amelia had difficulty understanding English idioms, with hilarious result. So when Amelia's boss leaves her a note to change the towels, dust the furniture, draw the drapes, put the lights out, measure two cups of rice, and dress the chicken, --well, check out our display on the first floor to see what she did.
