Come and enjoy Holiday Fest this Saturday!

The holiday season is kicking into high gear. We have TWO celebrations you won't want to miss THIS WEEKEND. Here's the first one...

Lone Star College's famous HOLIDAY FEST is THIS FRIDAY, November 30, from 5-9 pm. On the north side of the campus loop. Expect bounce houses, hay rides, train rides, children's games and crafts; live performances, special guest appearances, photos with Santa, and more. There will be cookies, punch, and coffee, and you will be able to buy hot dogs and soda for 50 cents each. So that's at 30555 Tomball Parkway (aka Highway 249), north of downtown Tomball. It's best to use the north entrance to the campus, over by the Beckendorf Center.

Alicia Mitchell exhibition in our Meeting Room

Alicia Mitchell has another exhibition in our meeting room this month. This time she is featuring historic collages and still lifes. The photo at left shows her with her last exhibition here. We invite you to wander through and take a look at them next time you're in the library.

Artists are welcome to reserve the meeting room and hang your paintings for a month at a time. Just phone the reference desk at 832-559-4213 to make arrangements.

The 47th Annual Tomball Holiday Parade! Books carts, not just for shelving anymore!

Parade DeerIf you are planning on attending the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce's 47th Annual Holiday Parade on November 17th, we hope you'll cheer our marching group on! The dedicated and enthusiastic library staff will be pushing books carts along the parade route for your entertainment! Shhhh... we are currently putting together a top-secret book cart drill! If you have never heard of library cart drill teams, let me introduce you! Check it out! Librarians nationwide perform various themed-drills at many professional conferences. Yes, yes, we know it's out of the ordinary to hear this, but librarians and library staff need a little fun, too! See you at the Parade!
