West University Book Group-February 3

all our namesPlease join us to discuss All Our Names, by Dinaw Mengestu.  This book selection is in observance of African American History Month.

Wednesday, February 3, at 11 a.m.

Fleeing war-torn Uganda for the American Midwest, Isaac begins a passionate affair with the social worker assigned to him. But the couple’s bond is inescapably darkened by the secrets of Isaac’s past: the country and the conflict he left behind and the beloved friend who changed the course of his life—and sacrificed everything to ensure his freedom. From acclaimed author Dinaw Mengestu, here is a love story for our time.

Painted Lady butterflies

The painted lady caterpillars have emerged from their chrysalises and are flitting around their mesh enclosure.  The pretty butterflies are a light brown pattern on the outside of their wings and a darker orange pattern on the outside.  Due to the long library closure over the Thanksgiving holiday, we will release the butterflies on Wednesday before the library closes.
