Have you seen the "Grant a Wish" list at our library?

When you last visited the library did you notice our "Grant a Wish" list?   Right in front of our circulation desk you will find a upright bulletin board with wishes (costs of items we need) to supply our summer reading program.  The items range in cost from $4 to our expensive programs of $100.  If you are only able to grant part of the wish you may share the wish with someone else or just provide us with whatever you are comfortable with.  This donation will be given to the Friends of the Baldwin Boettcher Library so it will be a tax deduction if you so require it.  Once you have granted our wish, your name and granted wish will be posted on the window of the Branch Manager's Office with your wish and name, so we will be able to recognize your help in contributing to the success of the Summer Reading

Benjamin is the name of our bunny.

Cute Bunny Benjamin is the new name of our library bunny.   Come meet him.  Benjamin is six months old and we have been told he is a California Rabbit.  He loves to eat green leafy vegetables and he cleans himself just like a kitten.  Come enjoy watching his antics.

What's his name?

Have  you heard?  Friday, April 27th, Ms Leanne will be announcing the name of our new library rabbit.

He is friendly and already excited to see all the children who come into the library to say hello.  So stay tuned his name will be announced tomorrow.

Baldwin Boettcher Mystery Book Club

According to the website Cozy-Mystery.com, most of the cozy mysteries that they read take place in a small, picturesque town or village, with characters who I could envision having as neighbors or friends.  I think this will apply nicely to the topic for our May Mystery Book Club.  Come join us on May 23rd at 2 pm for a discussion of the cozy mysteries you have read for the month.

Poetry Contest in May

National Poetry Month - AprilAre you a poet?  April is National Poetry Month, and to celebrate, we are having a poetry contest at Baldwin Boettcher.  The talented winner of each category (children, teens, and adults) will win a $25 gift certificate to a bookstore, so even if you never thought you could write a really good poem, it might be worthwhile to take an hour or more, find a quiet spot, and think on something that inspires you to put pen to paper.  All styles are welcome, but please limit your submission to one page.  If you can, come to the library on Thursday, April 26, at 2 pm, for a discussion of the contest guidelines and other details.
