Need Your Taxes Filed

Are you still needing your taxes filed?  AARP is at the Baldwin Boettcher Library doing taxes.  Did you know you do not have to be a member of AARP for them to help you.  Did you know you do not have to be a certain age for them to help you?  They will not do business taxes but they will help you with your personal filing if you bring all social security cards for the people on your return, 2010 Tax Return and all 2011 tax documents.

When are they here?  Mondays 1 pm - 6 pm, Wednesday 12 noon to 5 pm, Friday 1 pm - 5 pm and Saturdays 12 noon until 4 pm.  It is on a first come first serve basis and you may wait a little while on some days but remember it is FREE!!

Baldwin Boettcher Branch -- Evening Book Club

Short Stories of F. Scott FitzgeraldTitle to be discussed: F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (and any other Fitzgerald stories you want to read!) Time of meeting: Monday, March 5, at 6:30 pm. Summary: In his short story, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Fitzgerald provides a humorous and touching journey that reveals what it's like to be born old and age in reverse. First published in Collier's magazine in 1922, this classic story affirms Fitzgerald's place in American literature as the most enduring chronicler of the Jazz Age and of the excesses of his generation.

Story of the Underground Railroad

Have you heard the story of the Underground Railroad told with quilts?  Come join us at the Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library for the story of the Underground Railroad.  Explore this subject for Black History Month.  There will be a little food sampling while we explore the beautiful quilt blocks used to demonstrate how the slaves knew where to go and what to do once they escaped.  February 20th at 6 pm.  Once the demonstration is over, paper quilting (paper and scissor) will result in the creation of your own ten inch block with no sewing talents needed.  Create a block of beauty all by yourself.
