Summer Reading Ends Soon!

Just to let you know the end of Summer Reading is coming soon.  In two weeks, Aug 11th, summer reading will be the last day of summer reading.  If you have not turned in your list of 10+ books, now is the time to do so.  We would love to present your 2012 Summer Reading Certificate to you.  Yes, we still have some really neat books for you to look over and choose one.  Remember you only get a book for the first 10.  At 25 books you will get a certificate from the library and another bookmark.  Then at 50 books you will receive a ribbon and a magnifying glass while supplies last.  So "Get a Clue at your library" and finish up the summer by getting your certificate to show your family, teachers and others that you read 10 books over the summer.

Hope to see you at Baldwin Boettcher soon to take advantage of this great offer.

Changes are coming! Changes are coming!

The staff at the Baldwin Boettcher Library has been rearranging shelving, furniture and library items.  We are trying to remove the dust that is lingering on the shelving.  We have moved the movies to a new home along with the shelving that holds them.  We will try to post pictures when the project is finished.

We hope to have all the cleaning and arranging done by our Holiday open house on December 8th.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.  The Library staff at Baldwin Boettcher.

Baldwin Boettcher Evening Book Club

Anna KareninaJoin us on Monday, August 6, 6:30 pm, for our final discussion of Anna Karenina, the Russian classic by Leo Tolstoy.  We'll talk about the entire novel and its several film versions.  Summary from library catalog:  Regarded by many as the greatest novel ever written in any language, Anna Karenina relates the doomed love affair between the sensuous and rebellious Anna and the dashing officer Count Vronsky.  Set against a vast and richly textured canvas of nineteenth-century Russia, Anna's tragedy unfolds with relentless force as she rejects her passionless marriage to the aging official Karenin and must endure the hypocrisies of society.

June Program Winner!

For the month of June, Baldwin Boettcher Library had numerous fingerprints located all over the library. Customers had a chance to walk around, count the fingerprints and turn in their best guess as to how many fingerprints they found. Our winner for the June Program was Alistair D'Camp.  He is six years old and really enjoyed receiving his prize.

Thanks to all the other participants who gave us their best guess.
