Mad Men Count Down

Madison AvenueOnly a few more days and perhaps we will know something of the future of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce and the cast of characters linked to the fledgling ad agency formed in the last episode of Mad Men, Season Three. No question where I and many others will be this Sunday evening at 9 PM. But whether you’re waiting on your hold for Season One, Two, or Three, or you’re one of the first Maddicts from the Summer 2007 premiere of this Emmy-winning AMC drama, you might enjoy slipping into the aura of the era with these late ‘50s—early ‘60s movies with a Manhattan setting. How well do these movies tell the real story of Madison Avenue? Of New York? Or of America 50 years ago?

Adult Crafts

Craft projects and activities are not just for the young.  They are for the young at heart also.  On July 26, Baldwin Boettcher Library will have a lighthouse craft using clay pots and acrylic paints.  In August, watch our calendar for the date, the library will be offering a T-shirt decorating craft.

So bring your creative talents and come to the library for our adult craft times.  Remember to sign up for these events on the main library site www.hcpl.net using our events page and choosing the time and date for that craft.  You only need to put in your first and last name and a phone number so we may be able to call and remind you to attend the craft.

See you here at the Baldwin Boettcher Library.

One perk of working in a library would have to be seeing the new books arrive in delivery each week, and I sometimes feel like a child at Christmas when I open these red tubs of new materials to be checked in.
