December 6Title to be discussed:  December 6 by Martin Cruz Smith.  Date of meeting:  Monday, December 7, 2009, at 6:30 PM.  Summary:  Set in the crazed, nationalistic Tokyo of late 1941, "December 6" explores the coming world war through the other end of history's prism -- a prism held by the unforgettable rogue and lover, Harry Niles. Raised by missionary parents, Harry should be as American as apple pie.

Wanted: Adults with Ideas

Do you have an idea for an adult program you’d like to see at the library? Maybe you would like to learn a new skill or try out a new hobby (Wii games for adults? cooking demos? learning a language?), or perhaps you’d enjoy meeting with other adults who share a common interest, such as quilting or creative writing. We would love to hear from you. Simply reply to this blog post, or fill out a comment card or talk to a staff member when you visit the library.  Let us know your ideas and also the day/time you are able to attend programs at the library.  We are already planning some exciting events for 2010. Your input will make the new year even better!

Pilgrim coupleWe are having a fun craft for people ages 9 to 12! It will be on Tuesday , November 24, 2009 at 4:00 pm at Baldwin Boettcher’s Meeting Room. All materials are provided but a ticket is required to attend. Tickets will be available 30 minutes before the program begins. (Tickets are free of cost).

1001 Movies You Must See Before You DieIf you have, then you know you can spend a small fortune for a couple of hours of fun, especially if you include popcorn and a soft drink. So if you come to the library to check out books and movies, why not plan your visit during one of our monthly movie screenings?  Enjoy a movie with popcorn, pick up your holds, and browse the shelves for even more materials to check out all in the same trip.

    The 1970s                The 70”s Party is tomorrow! Don’t forget to come to the Baldwin Boettcher Library for fun and games! The party is at 1:00 pm, October 31, 2009 in the Library Meeting Room. 1970’s costumes encouraged but not necessary. See you then!
