Still Feel the Need to Purchase a Book?

Come browse the Friends of the Library book nook.  You will find gently used books for sale.  The prices are well worth the trip.  Paperbacks go for 25 to 50 cents, while hardback books sell for $1.00.

Do you still have a VHS player at home? The Friends of the Baldwin Boettcher Library are selling donated VHS tapes for 50 cents to $1.00.

So come into the library and purchase a book or movie from our Friends group to support our programming at the Baldwin Boettcher Library.

Hurricane Season Not Over Quite Yet…

In fact, we are only just now coming to the most likely period for hurricanes. Harris County Office of Emergency Management will be on hand to help us all prepare for the unhappy possibility of a major storm visiting the Gulf Coast this year. This informative program will be in the meeting room here at Baldwin Boettcher on Tuesday, September 8, at 5:00 PM, and will include a question and answer period. All are invited to attend.

Calling all adult guitarists!!!!

I would love to know how to play the guitar. How very lucky that Kevin Groover is going to teach beginning guitar on Monday evenings: September 14, 21, 28, & October 5, 2009 at 6:00 pm. If you would like to join the lessons the requirements are: to be an adult owning a guitar. The lessons are FREE! Due to the popularity of this program registration is needed. Please call 281-821-1320 or come by the Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library to register.

Classic Movie Matinee on September 2

Sometimes you just love to see a movie over and over again. New movies are great, of course, but there are times you just want the comfort and predictable outcome of a movie you are sure you love. We'll be showing one of these gems for our next Classic Movie Club selection, and we invite you to join us on Wednesday, September 2, at 2:00 PM, in the Baldwin Boettcher meeting room. This 1959 romantic comedy will put a smile in your heart, whether it’s the first or the tenth time you have seen it. For more information, call us at 281-821-1320.
