Trick or Treat Family Storytime for Halloween

Everyone is invited to bring their children to our 6:30 pm Family Storytime.  The Baldwin Boettcher Library will be hosting a trick or treat storytime.  Everyone will listen to a story, make a small craft and then follow the footsteps of the ghost and other characters throughout the library to trick or treat.  The BB staff is creating a safe place for children to discover the joy of trick or treating.  Come in costume.  Prizes will be awarded for several categories.  See you on Halloween, Wednesday, October 31st.  

Mystery Book Club

On November 14, the Baldwin Boettcher Mystery Book Club will bring their favorite author with them.  Do you have a new and exciting mystery author you would like to introduce to everyone?  We will have a light snack and discuss why this is our current new author.  As you know the mystery genre is ever changing and giving us new and exciting things to read about.  So bring your newest favorite or your familiar friend that you always rely on and join us at 2 pm, November 14th in the Language Lab.

Gulf Coast Reads "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" Food Drive

Please help us celebrate the Gulf Coast Reads by donating an item to our Food Bank Drive.  The book featured this year in the Gulf Coasts Reads, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" was about our terrorist attack in 2001.  We would like everyone to take part in this incredible story by donating an item here at the library so we may take it to our local food bank.  If you have any questions on the items you may donate please call us at the library, 281-821-1320 and we will help you out with your decision.  No item is too small.  Please make sure the expiration date has not been reached yet.  Thanking you in advance for making our food drive a success.

New ESL Class

ESL classDo you know someone who wants to learn English?  Next month Baldwin Boettcher will begin a brand new ESL class for adults who speak little or no English.  The new class will meet on Thursdays from 1 to 3 pm, starting on October 11.  As with all library programs, this class is free.  Those interested are encouraged to drop by the library to fill out a student contact form, but pre-registration is not necessary.  For more information, please contact Cindy at the library (281-821-1320).  Photo credit:  Baldwin Boettcher Branch photo
