CreekFest is Coming

CreekFest LogoWe're about six weeks away from this year's CreekFest and we can't wait! CreekFest is a one-day festival held in Northwest Houston to promote the fine arts organizations, outdoor parks, and other community resources in the Greater Cypress Creek Area. The 4th annual festival will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 10am to 4pm and includes a variety of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, local artists and vendors, tasty food, and more!

Admission to the festival is free for all ages. Experience the fine arts through hands-on art projects, artist demonstrations, performances, and fun library activities. Explore the outdoors along the beautiful trails and waterways of Collins Park and Meyer Park or take part in the Color the Creek Run.

KleinBot Teens Entertain Library Customers

KleinBots, a robotics group from Klein ISD, wowed the crowd with their robotic creations on Saturday, August 9. The customers learned about their robots and the competitions they enter during the school year. The presenters showed several short videos of last year's tournaments. The the real fun started. 

A Little Fizz, Some Boom & Lots of Read!

Oh yes, August is here and we are officially at the end of our Summer Reading Program! Today is the last day to log in any books that you have read or listened to. If for some reason you can’t come in to claim your prize today (a free book for the first 10 books OR 500 minutes OR 500 pages), you do have time to do so until August 16th, (I know we are very nice). Remember we were giving you blue flasks to put your stickers on?

Robots are Coming

All are invited to our free robotics program this Saturday at 10:30 AM. We are so lucky to have Klein Bots coming to share the awesome work they’ve done over the years. You’ll even get a chance to interact with some of robots. We will also have our final drawing for a free gift card to a local bookstore.

Kindle E-Book Demo at the Library

Did you purchase a Kindle recently? If you have a Kindle, Kindle Fire, Kindle Keyboard, Kindle Touch or Kindle Paperwhite you can download e-books from the Harris County Public Library’s Digital Media Catalog. Come to the session August 12th at 11:00 to learn how to download E-Books to your device. The Kindle demo will be held in the 2nd floor Barbara Bush Library Friends Computer Lab.
