Voulunteer ESL Tutor Training

The Barbara Bush Branch Library is seeking volunteer tutors to help non-English speaking adults to learn to read, write and speak English.  A free training workshop will take place at the library on Saturday, September 22 from 9:00 to 12:00 pm.

You need not speak another language nor have teaching experience.  At the workshop we will introduce you to teaching techniques and materials which will allow you to communicate with non-English speaking students.

Senior Classic Movie Morning Returns

On Friday, September 14, 2012 Senior Classic Movie Morning returns to the Barbara Bush Branch Library.  We will show a classic Alfred Hitchcock spy thriller: "Richard Hannay is a Canadian visitor to London.  At the end of his show in a music hall, he meets Annabella Smith who is running away from secret agents.  He accepts to hide her in his flat, but in the night she is murdered.  Fearing he could be accused in the girl's murder, Hannay goes on the run to break the spy ring."

Senior Classic Movie Morning will be the 2nd Friday of each month.  The movie will start shortly after 10:00 am and will usually end around Noon.  Come with a friend or meet a new friend.
